What Are the Differences Between Product Editions?
Deltopia offers DeltaWalker Classic in three editions: Free, Pro and Oro. All three come from the same download, which starts as a 30-day trial with every feature; the license you activate decides the edition.
- Free is free for good on macOS, Windows and Linux. Download DeltaWalker Classic and activate it with a free activation code, which we email when you give your name and email address. It needs no purchase and no account, and never expires. It compares files, folders, images and binary files, edits and saves text and binary files, and copies changes between the two sides of a file comparison. In a folder comparison, it copies, moves, deletes and renames the entries you select. It does not include one-click folder synchronization (Choose Sync Action, Update and Mirror), remote locations such as FTP, SFTP and WebDAV, scripting, three-way comparison and merge, automatic merge, folder alignment filters, or Dropbox and Google Drive.
- Pro adds those features on one platform of your choice: macOS, Windows or Linux.
- Oro adds them on all three platforms.
Pro and Oro are paid licenses, and you can buy one here. To move up from Free, enter the Pro or Oro activation code in Help > Activate DeltaWalker Classic…: no new download is needed. DeltaWalker Classic Standard is no longer sold; existing Standard licenses keep working.
“Not Available in DeltaWalker Classic Free”
When you use something DeltaWalker Classic Free does not include, an information box tells you so: “Feature is not available in DeltaWalker Classic Free.” You see it when you:
- drop three files on a comparison window, or give three paths on the command line. Free has no three-way comparison, so it compares the first two files and the box says “Three-way comparison is not available in DeltaWalker Classic Free.”;
- choose Open Remote…, or open a comparison that includes a remote location (FTP, SFTP, WebDAV and so on), including one from your history. Free opens nothing remote and the box says “Remote locations (FTP, SFTP, WebDAV) is not available in DeltaWalker Classic Free.”
Click OK to close the box. Nothing is wrong with your files, and a comparison of local files carries on as usual. To use the feature, enter a Pro or Oro activation code in Help > Activate DeltaWalker Classic…: no new download is needed.
