Available Character Encodings

DeltaWalker Classic reads and writes text in the character encodings supported by the Java 21 runtime it ships with. The set of encodings depends on the platform: every platform has the encodings in the first table below, and Windows and Linux add the ones listed for them. The Select Character Encoding dialog always lists exactly the encodings available on your computer.

The tables give each encoding’s name as DeltaWalker Classic shows it, followed by a brief description.
