Is DeltaWalker Classic Functionally Identical on Every Platform?

For the most part, yes. DeltaWalker Classic is written in the Java programming language, yet it looks and performs natively on every supported platform because its user interface is built with the native widgets of each platform. Subtle differences in how those widgets behave across platforms can occasionally lead to minor differences in DeltaWalker Classic.

For a tight visual integration with each supported operating system, DeltaWalker Classic comes with icons designed to match those of the operating system. The installers are also specific to each operating system, to make installation as familiar as possible: on macOS, a DMG disk image; on Windows, an MSI installer that can also add DeltaWalker Classic to the Windows Explorer context menu; on Linux, a .tar.gz archive.

Lastly, DeltaWalker Classic extends some native dialogs, such as the file selection dialog, to a different degree on different platforms. For instance, on Windows and Linux the file selection dialog lets you choose the character encoding and the line delimiter when opening or saving files; on macOS, these options are not part of that dialog.

All such differences are minor and add up to only slight variations in functionality and performance.
